Suddenly it all seemed reasonable...

I was inspired by a scene in Final Yamato when Leader Dessler rescued the Yamato from certain destruction. He pauses for a moment to thank Kodai and the Yamato crew for the moving though premature tribute they left in his honor. Then, Dessler sensually inhaled the fragrance of one of the flowers left by Kodai before lovingly placing it in his breast pocket. All the while, he seems fixated on Kodai. Well, a mind like mine certainly cannot ignore what is an obvious invitation to slash this pair.

This series takes place after Yamato III and assumes Final Yamato never occurred.

In this universe, the Yamato crew has scattered and are leading largely quiet lives. Kodai and Yuki are married and have a lovely daughter. Kodai is an instructor on battle tactics for officer candidates. Yuki is a stay at home Mom. All seems well for the couple until an urgent errand of mercy in the far reaches of space cause Kodai and Dessler to meet once again. As always, Dessler has a way of upending Kodai's life. This time, there is even more at stake than ever before.
